United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) Ambassador to the United States, Yousef Al Otaiba maintains a strong commitment to strengthening international ties between the two countries. In the past three years, Ambassador Al Otaiba has engaged both nations through focused efforts on bilateral arrangements involving defense, security, and anti-terrorism. He also has worked on multilateral anti-proliferation and international trade issues. One of Yousef Al Otaiba’s key professional commitments is strengthening economic ties through improved terms for commercial and private trade. In recognition of these sustained efforts, Ambassador Al Otaiba has received the National U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce Ambassador of the Year Award.

Yousef Al Otaiba has benefitted from an education at highly recognized institutions of higher learning such as the Cairo American College in Egypt and Georgetown University, where he majored in International Relations. Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba has additional training as an International Fellow at the Industrial College of the US Armed Forces at the National Defense University in Washington, DC. Prior to his current position, Ambassador Al Otaiba spent seven years as Director of International Affairs for the Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. Yousef Al Otaiba also undertook duties as Senior Counselor to HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
